Beyond the Blue Horizon: E.F.I’s Wall-E on ECR

What if the traffic-congested urban streets of Chennai city could convey insightful information about the environment? Through the transformative power of wall painting, E.F.I’s Wall-E is doing just that.

Amid the chaos of urban life, a quiet revolution is underway to bring the serene beauty of the ocean to Chennai’s dirty & boring concrete walls. For a 300 meter stretch on the East Coast Road in Kovalam,
E.F.I aims to showcase the wonders of aquatic life and raise awareness about marine conservation.

The wall highlights the diverse aquatic species and coral reefs that are found in our blue oceans. Paintings of Sickle fish, Honeycomb Whipray, Golden Trevally, Pilot fish, Atolla Jellyfish, Purple-striped jelly are showcased to raise awareness among the public. Colorful depictions of coral colonies such as pore coral, Palauastrea are also painted to bring into focus the importance of coral reef ecosystems.

With intricate and colorful depictions of India’s rich biodiversity, WALL-E serves as a potent reminder of our interconnectedness with the aquatic world.
