Thirty Days for Chennai’s Dirty Lakes

The Thandukarai pond is located just a few miles from the Chennai’s only surviving wetland ecosystem, the Pallikaranai Marshland. Apart from the large marshland, Pallikaranai is also home to several lakes and ponds.

The Thandukarai Pond restoration in Pallikaranai. E.F.I with support from Greater Chennai Corporation and Ford Motor Pvt. Ltd. had taken on the ambitious task of reviving this pond.

Parallel to this restoration, E.F.I has also restored several other water bodies in the city of Chennai such as the Ramalingasami Pond in Manali and the Gangaiamman Pond in Maduravoyal.
