ஸ்ரீ ராமானுஜர் 1000 ம் ஆண்டு விழாவை முன்னிட்டு ஸ்ரீ ராமானுஜர் குளத்தை அவர் நினைவாக E.F.I-தன்னார்வ தொண்டு நிறுவனம் மூலம் தூர்வாரப்பட்டது.
Located in Kanchipuram, known for it’s Ramanujar temple,Sevilimedu panchayat is one of the most celebrated places of all times. It was also believed that Sri Ramanujar , a Hindu theologian and philosopher was saved from an alarming danger by the Lord himself. To celebrate the 1000th birth anniversary of the great Ramanujar, the Sevilimedu pond (popularly known as the Ramanujar Anushtana kulam) was restored by the Environmentalist foundation of India( E.F.I).The restoration involved removal of non-degradable wastes followed by the removal of invasive weeds. The entire pond area was de-silted/deepened up to 2 feet. The silt was used for laying bunds around the pond. The pond measured 2.5 acres, work has been underway over the last 20 days and is expected to be completed in a week’s time.

- Ground water percolation
- Prevention of waterborne diseases
- Localized climate change combat
E.F.I thanks it’s volunteer coordinators and the Assistant commissioner of HR&CE,Government of Tamil Nadu for their perennial support for making this restoration,a grand success.
காஞ்சிபுரம் மாவட்டம் ,செவிலிமேடு கிராமத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது ராமானுஜர் சன்னதி.இதன் அருகில் உள்ள இந்த குளம் பல வருடங்களாக தூர்வாரப்படாமல் இருந்த்தது.ஸ்ரீ ராமானுஜரின் 1000 ம் வது ஆண்டு விழாவை கொண்டாடும் விதமாக , E.F.I-தன்னார்வ தொண்டு நிறுவனம் மாவட்ட நிர்வாகத்திடம் அனுமதி பெற்று சீரமைத்து வருகிறது .சுமார் 2.5 ஏக்கர் பரப்பளவு கொண்ட இந்த குளம் கடந்த 20 நாட்களாக நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. குளத்தில் உள்ள சீமை கருவேலம் மற்றும் இதர பல குப்பைகள் அகற்ற பட்டு,குளம் தூர்வாரப்பட்டு, அந்த மணலை வைத்து கரைகள் பலப்படுத்தப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. இந்த செயல் மூலம், குளத்தின் கொள்ளளவு அதிகரித்து நீர் தேக்கும் வசதி பெருகும். குளத்தின் கழிவுகள் அகற்ற பட்டு சுத்தம் செய்வதினால் சுகாதார சீர்கேடு தவிர்க்கப்படும், கரைகளை பல படுத்த பனை மர கண் உட்பட உள்ளூர் மர கன்றுகள் நட பட்டு பல்லுயிரின பெருக்கத்துக்கு வழிவகுக்க படும்.
