Chennai’s western boundary is home to a range of mid-small sized hillocks that give this landscape its characteristics of elevation-depression and channels. Moongil thangal near Vandalur is one such an intermediate storage unit that is locked between and hill and a mid-sized lake. Water from the hill drains towards the lake with Moongil thangal being the mid stop. A unique habitat with its geology, hydrology, botany, zoology all to be witnessed first hand to understand nature’s magic.
