Forgotten Ponds of Tuticorin

Located adjacent to the Kulasekaranallur-Murambam Road in Tuticorin, a village pond was on the verge of extinction as excessive silt and invasive weeds took over it. Its condition was so bad that the passer-by could not tell that it was once a water storing pond!

With administrative support form the Government of Tamil Nadu, and funding support from the CavinKare, E.F.I took on the restoration of the Kulasekaranallur Pond. Take a look at all that happened during the restoration!

Thanks to this timely restoration, the pond can now store water once again! We thank all the local residents and volunteers who strengthened this effort!
