Along the busy Oragadam–Sriperumbudur Highway, amidst expanding industries and agricultural landscapes, lies Sirukalathur Lake. A 24-acre freshwater ecosystem that quietly sustains local groundwater, farmlands, and biodiversity. Yet, as the region grew, years of neglect, invasive vegetation, waste dumping, and silt accumulation threatened the lake’s ecological balance and water-holding capacity. Recognizing the importance of this vital water body under #BlueGreenKanchipuram initiative. E.F.I, in collaboration with Royal Enfield and the Kanchipuram District Administration, embarked on a restoration initiative to bring Sirukalathur Lake back to life. Through targeted ecological interventions, the effort aims to revive its water storage potential, strengthen its landscape, and create a healthier habitat for wildlife.
