Located adjacent to the Sarkhej–Gandhinagar Highway, Tarapur Urban Pond was once a dumping ground, overrun by invasive weeds and marked by weakened embankments. Today, it is a clean and thriving waterbody holding fresh rainwater, with strengthened embankments, increased storage capacity, and secure protective fencing. Under the #BlueGreenGandhinagar initiative, E.F.I., in collaboration with HDB and the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, is restoring Tarapur Pond to revive its ecological health, improve its structural stability, and renew its role as a vital resource for the local community and surrounding landscape.
