Revitalizing a Dormant Water Body – Panayanthangal Lake

Located in the North-East part of Tamil Nadu, the Morai Village is a fast-developing region. The area is majorly dependent on agrarian practices, thanks to the structured water management system consisting of interconnected water bodies in the village. The presence of the Krishna Water Canal also plays a major role in ensuring water security for nearly 5200 acres of farm regions.

The Panayanthangal Lake located in this region prior to restoration was covered with invasive weeds and solid waste that has been dumped over the years from the neighboring areas. The water body was in dire need of a scientific restoration to bring it back to its natural state.

With administrative support from the Tiruvallur Collectorate, and funding support from CAMS, E.F.I had taken on the restoration of the Panayanthangal Lake. Check out all that had happened during this restoration!

We thank the local residents for supporting us in reviving this water body!
