The Kovai Vanam is an urban forest project set up in the district of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.
Being situated on the banks of the river Noyyal, Coimbatore is a region that is adorned with beautiful hills, streams, lakes, and ponds. Lush green and scenic landscapes are something that Coimbatore once used to be associated with. Today, the city has poor air quality in several regions as a result of urbanization and modernization.
E.F.I with support from Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation had taken on the task of reviving the greenery of Coimbatore by setting up urban forests in four sites;
Vallalar Nagar, Kalidas Nagar, Brindavan Garden, and Jothi Nagar.
