A Jewel in the Pearl City: Pudhupatti Lake

Tuticorin located on the Coromandel Coast is a port city famous for its port, pearl fishing and its industries. Among the many things that the city has to offer, it also has several water bodies that play an important in the livelihoods of the local residents.

The Pudhupatti Lake located adjacent to the Tirunelveli-Thoothukudi Highway is one such a water body. Once a large lake, with a lush green environment and filled with water had over the years been taken over by invasive weeds, garbage and silt.

E.F.I took on the task of reviving this water body with administrative support from the Government of Tamil Nadu and funding support from HDB Financial Services Ltd. Check out all that happened during the restoration!

We thank all those who supported and strengthened our efforts in restoring the Pudhupatti Lake!
