Revamping the ponds of Puducherry

Arasamara Pond is located in Ezhil Nagar, a northern suburb in Puducherry get its name from the “peepal” tree on its northern bund. When taken up for an eco-restoration, the pond was overgrown with invasive species and also included dumping of solid and liquid waste into the pond ecosystem.

With administrative support form the Government of Puducherry, and funding support from the IndusInd bank, part of the HInduja Foundation under the Jal Jeevan initiative, E.F.I took on the restoration of the Arasamara Pond. Take a look at all that happened during the restoration!

    What if I tell you that all the processes used till date using Physics, Chemistry and Biology to treat water bodies are bound to fail over time. Only Solution is to have ecological approach.
