E.C.R has a new water identity

Scenic beachway, the party town of Chennai city is what we would associate the East Coast road with. Who knew that along this busy road stretch are several freshwater bodies. One such an urban pond with the freshwater tag was taken up for restoration by E.F.I in 2019. The Amara Pond located the edge of Palavakkam is a fine example of how a city can grow yet care for nature. Check the images below to understand the evolution of this pond from being a neglected pit to a celebrated water wonder.

E.F.I thanks the Greater Chennai Corporation for providing pavements, revetment walls and other civil work at the lake. We thank the Appaswamy Group companies for supporting the weed removal, recharge well installation and the native species plantation. Get ready to do Yoga, experience storytelling and more at the pond very soon.
