E.F.I, in collaboration with the Krishnagiri District Administration and Caterpillar India, is setting up sustainable water infrastructure across 10 villages in the Thally, Hosur, and Shoolagiri blocks. Through #BlueGreenGramam, the goal is simple yet powerful: to turn rural landscapes into water-positive spaces using smart, nature-based solutions.
From soak pits and magic pits to recharge wells and rainwater harvesting systems, over 450 structures are being established to treat greywater, recharge aquifers, and store rainwater. These systems are tailored to each village’s geography and needs, curbing water stagnation, boosting groundwater, and ensuring cleaner, healthier surroundings.
In a region where rainfall often goes untapped and untreated greywater causes environmental hazards, this project brings climate resilience to the grassroots. These new hydro-infra systems quietly do their job out of sight, yet transforming village life from below the surface.
The rural terrain of Hosur deserves this #BlueGreen innovation because water security isn’t just an urban dream. Walk through these villages, and you’ll see the silent work of sustainability layer by layer, pit by pit, well by well.
