The Koladi Lake located in Western Chennai when taken up for an eco-restoration was nothing but a dry and barren land that had more waste than life in it. Prior to restoration, the lake now has new innovations that have been implemented in it to preserve and protect it, and there has been a significant increase in the water holding capacity as well!
With administrative support from the Tiruvallur District Collectorate, Tmt. Mageswari Ravikumar IAS (former collector), this project was taken under the Mummari Project the Public Works Department of Tamil Nadu, and funding support from the Rotary Club of Madras, E.F.I took on the restoration of the Koladi Lake. Take a look at this detailed report of all that happened in this eco-restoration.
We thank all the volunteers and local residents who supported us in restoring this water body!
